Employed by the London Borough of Camden the Community Partnerships Manager will be based in North London Waste Authority (NLWA), serving Camden and six other north London boroughs.
About the Role
This is an exciting new role to manage community partnerships and improve outcomes for residents in north London. Our social value programme provides opportunities like apprenticeships and training, and funding for community groups. This is a chance to develop, deliver and measure our approach to social value across our major projects and day to day work. You will manage relationships with contractors and partners to ensure they deliver their social value objectives and identify new projects to support our residents.
You will be enthusiastic about managing a programme which provide real benefits to north London residents. You will be able to communicate the aims and outcomes of the workstream to a wide variety of stakeholders and be passionate about realising life-changing opportunities for local people.
You will have a good knowledge of current thinking relating to equality, diversity and inclusion, and of groups which are active in overcoming social disadvantage. You will be an active advocate for building effective and coherent partnerships with contractors, councils, internal teams and community groups.
Your understanding of the potential socio-economic impacts of construction projects will help the progress of this work for the benefit of NLWA and the local population.

North London Waste Authority serves 2 million residents in the boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest. We manage about a quarter of all the rubbish and recycling in London and run programmes to help residents and businesses reduce their waste and recycle more.
Our mission is to preserve resources and the environment for future generations and make sure that waste is disposed of in an environmentally responsible way.
North London Heat and Power Project is our project to provide new infrastructure on the Edmonton EcoPark, including a new Energy Recovery Facility. The project will ensure environmentally sound waste management for the forseeable future in north London. Our vision is to create a waste management facility in which local communities can take pride, that demonstrated value and is a model for public sector project delivery.
Working for NLWA
The post-holder will work for NLWA and be based at NLWA’s office in Tottenham Hale but be employed by London Borough of Camden through whom NLWA staff are employed. The North London Heat and Power Project is located at Edmonton EcoPark.
