Still need more reasons to think about finding that perfect job here in Mid Sussex? We are close to Gatwick Airport and on the trainline to London and Brighton, have superb private and state schools on your doorstep, and an abundance of National Trust gardens for that well-deserved weekend re-charge.

Can you help us to realise our ambition and potential?

We're looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual with outstanding customer services skills to join our Development Management team as an Assistant Tree Officer.

The successful candidate will work within our Planning Enforcement and Trees team, alongside the Council's Tree Officer. You will have experience in tree related matters, or associated fields, and have excellent customer service skills. Your main duties will include processing applications for works to trees in our conservation area's, providing advice to planning officers on tree and landscaping matters in respect of planning applications and responding to requests and enquiries on tree related matters from the Council's range of customers. This includes carrying out site visits, the assessment of and writing reports on applications and advising residents on these matters.

With your flexible, courteous and calm approach you will be able to provide clear and accurate advice to the services customers in relation to tree related matters. Computer literacy is essential as we make extensive use of technology and electronic systems.

We are a friendly and welcoming organisation, who enjoy working and learning together.  If you bring a strong track record of delivery as well as enthusiasm and a collaborative approach, then we want to hear from you. We also offer agile working, a generous pension scheme and excellent benefits such as 23 days annual leave.
