enabling young people to succeed…
Hertfordshire County Council Services for Young People is the primary provider of youth work; information, advice and careers guidance; work related learning and work experience to young people in Hertfordshire.
The Service is a key contributor to the prevention and early intervention / early help agenda including Hertfordshire County Council’s aim of supporting young people to make a successful transition to an economically independent adult life.
The Service delivers targeted prevention and early intervention work to ensure that young people get the help they need early and to reduce the necessity for higher cost specialist intervention.
It enables young people to succeed by providing high quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development. It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood.
You will have the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people and partners, to respond flexibly to their needs and to the priorities of the Service.
Good IT, organisation and communication skills are essential as you will need to record data on a management information system, meet targets, produce reports and correspond with young people, parents and partners.
You will deliver face to face work in accordance with JNC terms and conditions. You will be required to travel across the county so access to a vehicle is essential.
You will have a nationally recognised JNC qualification for Youth and Community Workers and evidence of continued professional development or the ability to study at post graduate level.
For an informal discussion please contact Mark Hughes mark.hughes@hertfordshire.gov.uk or Lucy Davis lucy.davis@hertfordshire.gov.uk
