About Us:

The Tenancy Services Team at BCP Council is looking to recruit a full-time Hostel Co-ordinator.

The team is responsible for managing all aspects of the Council’s temporary accommodation portfolio including Joint Living properties, self-contained, family and singles shared accommodation schemes.

The successful applicant will be based at a shared accommodation for either singles or families who are experiencing homelessness. You may also be required to work across the other hostels or sites from time to time. They will be responsible for the day-to-day housing management and coordination of services attending the scheme. Services include cleaning, maintenance contractors, and wider support services. They will also be required to assist in supporting some of the wider team activities including administrative tasks.

Experience in dealing with challenging behaviour and client groups having experienced homelessness would be of benefit. The successful candidate will liaise with and develop good positive working relationships across teams within the Council and external agencies.

The role will be challenging and fast-paced with the successful applicant needing to provide a proactive and efficient service.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role.

As a result of the creation of BCP Council in 2019, we are working on simplifying our terms and conditions of service and will be creating a single pay structure which all of our employees will move on to. It is important to us that we offer benefits that our colleagues value as part of their total employment package and we are reviewing these to make sure we have it right. We’re hoping to implement these changes in 2024 and all colleagues joining us will be included in these changes.
