We are expanding our Democratic Services Team to respond to new and changing collaborations across the City Region. We’re looking for experienced Democratic Services Officers or people with the right skills and attitude to join us on this journey. This role represents a great opportunity to work within a friendly and hardworking team which is at the heart of the strategic decision-making processes at the Combined Authority.

 

The Liverpool City Region Mayoral Combined Authority was created in 2017 and takes the lead in exciting regional projects such as Tidal energy, digital connectivity, new trains, supporting individuals and families into work, skills, training and apprenticeships and significant transport projects including bus reform.

The successful candidate will provide high quality governance support to the Combined Authority, its committees and a variety of boards.  You will work closely with important stakeholders, including elected members, to deliver a high-quality service.  You will be managed by the Democratic Services Manager.

 

While relevant experience is highly valued and preferred, we also welcome applicants who demonstrate the right transferable skills, drive and commitment to join our journey as training and initial support can be provided to the right candidate.

  • You will work a 35-hour week with flexible hours and hybrid working, which allows you the flexibility to start and end your working day at various times and location provided that the needs of the service are met.
  • Our meetings are held during the day.
  • Membership of the Association of Democratic Services Officers (ADSO) that provides opportunities for accredited qualifications and participation in development programmes, as well as other training programmes as appropriate.
  • The successful candidate would be able to take advantage of a free all modes travel pass within the Merseyside area together with a spouse or partner off peak travel pass.
  • You will receive 29 days annual leave plus bank holidays (plus 5 more days after 5 years of service) as well as good maternity, paternity, adoption, and shared parental leave (see website for details)
  • Finally, being a public sector organisation, you are able to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
