The Role
We are looking for 4 people to join our team to help provide engaging experiences for visitors at our vibrant and busy museums (Lancaster City Museum & Lancaster Maritime Museum). You will need to be keen to roll up your sleeves, have a strong dedication to delivering exceptional customer care through teamwork, flexibility and hard work in a friendly environment.
Really good local knowledge would be an advantage, as would an interest in local history. You will need to be able to work between our sites and all of the roles involve some weekend working.
Some of the duties of this role include:
- Engaging with visitors to ensure that the museum is a welcoming and enjoyable place to visit.
- Supporting all museum operations and activities to ensure visitors gain the best possible experience of their visit to the museum.
- Working within the reception, shop, café and other public areas.
- Ensuring the security of the museum, collections, staff & visitors.
- Cleaning exhibits and public areas.
- Supporting the care and presentation of the collections
Positions available include:
MA1: 15.38 hour per week (days of work include Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays)
MA2: 15.38 hours per week (days of work include Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays)
MA3: 20.5 hours per week (days of work include Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays)
MA4: 9 hours per week (days of work include Saturdays & Sundays)
