Trainee Procurement Officer

Location: HFCMAT - This role will be based within the Central Finance Team and may be across different sites within our Trust. Hybrid working may be possible.

The directors of Holy Family Catholic Multi Academy Trust are looking to appoint a Trainee Procurement Officer to support in the process of delivering an effective and quality procurement function for Holy Family Catholic Multi Academy Trust.
This is a development role within the Trust where the role holder will be required to take part in agreed training plan to develop them personally and allow them to take on increased responsibility and ownership within the procurement service.  
The role will work closely with the Trust CFO and the wider finance team to build on and developing existing procurement practices.

Key responsibilities
Ensuring systems are in place so the Trust achieves value for money through compliant procurement and maximise buying power and economies and benefits of scale.
Developing and implement robust and effective policies, processes, procedures and systems to support the operational effectiveness of the Trust in relation to procurement and contracting.
Providing a high level of procurement and purchasing support to the schools within the Trust.
Management of contracts across the Trust, holding suppliers to account using KPIs and customer requirements, ensuring suppliers deliver value for money for our schools.
Maintaining the Trusts contract register to accurately record the status of all contracts held and review these schedules for renewal to support the Trusts strategic priorities.
Managing strategic supplier relationship management to identify performance improvements.
Creating and implementing clear strategies for buying goods and services that are in line with the Trusts wider objectives and goals.
Making sure that suppliers meet required standards, such as ISO accreditation, General Data Protection Regulations, the right insurance cover etc.
Making sure the supply chain for your organisation is free from slavery and corruption.
Comparing costs and specifications in the proposals that suppliers and vendors send.
Looking for ways to improve procurement processes, making them more efficient and transparent.
