Principal Lawyer - Commercial

This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, with a minimum attendance at the office base in Lincoln on one day per week.

Legal Services Lincolnshire (LSL) is a shared legal service hosted by the county council, offering legal advice to the county council, to six of the county's district and borough councils as well as other public sector clients.  We are committed to delivering commercial law support to our clients’ major projects in-house and can provide a wide variety of challenging work in the areas such as IT contracts, construction and children’s and adult’s commissioning

We are looking for an enthusiastic leader for our Commercial and Information team who has a passion for local government legal work and for developing people.

The role

As the Principal Lawyer you will be expected to provide high quality, responsive and cost effective advice covering a range of contract and procurement matters. In addition, you will lead and supervise a team of eight legal staff including experts in information law and contribute to the management of LSL and the good governance of our council clients.

About you

You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with at least 5 years PQE together with management experience who has a thorough understanding and working knowledge of a variety of commercial law areas.  Experience of public law work is desirable.
