About the Role
The role available covers the assessment and design of schemes to manage traffic through the application of traffic regulation orders and the associated statutory process required to completion. The post holder’s general duties will include the coordination, communications, consultation, financial control, planning, design, construction and handover on completion of a variety of schemes.
We are based in a number of offices (Boston; Grantham; Horncastle; Lincoln; Louth; Sleaford; Sturton by Stow) shared with Alliance Partners across the county. Hybrid working is a feature of this role. The successful applicant will be required to attend the office alongside the rest of the team each Wednesday. On occasion additional days may be required.
About you
You will need to demonstrate a good level of technical knowledge, be able to engage with the community and have the ability to inspect and place works orders to the Alliance contractors. This post has a varied workload including the coordination of works, daily communication with a variety of customers and groups in a range of methods and assisting in the development and use of suitable IT systems and processes. A full training and development package will be made available to ensure candidates are able to attain their full potential within the organisation.
Please note this role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area and therefore a valid driving licence and use of a car is required.
About the Team
Lincolnshire County Council's Local Operational Asset Management Team provide a highway maintenance design service to one of the biggest highways networks in the country. There are four Teams based in offices across the county that work in partnership with our Network Management Teams and external contractors within the Lincolnshire Highways Alliance.
The Team is small but perfectly formed; a tight bunch, but we don’t live in each other’s pockets! We mostly work remotely, but that’s our choice. There is space available for us in Lancaster House, Sturton Depot and Witham House should we prefer to work from the office.
We have a lively TEAMS chat that we utilise daily to ask each other questions and bounce ideas around plus we see each other in person once a week and other ad-hoc opportunities. We try to get together every so often to get out of the house and let our hair down a little, our social outings are not mandatory but we do want you to feel that you are the part of the team and join us if you can, no pressure.
P.S there’s always cake at the Team Meetings!
