Independent Reviewing Officer

The Independent Review Service is looking to recruit suitably enthusiastic, qualified and experienced Independent Reviewing Officers, who has the skills and commitment to deliver quality reviewing of care plans for children and young people in the care of Birmingham Children’s Trust and providing effective quality assurance to ensure that children are receiving the care they require, whilst seeking positive and timely outcomes.

You will be a highly skilled children’s social work practitioner with at least 5 years post qualifying experience  and this should including experience in supervising and managing social workers who work with children and young people, We are a service committed to high standards of practice, and in promoting the participation of children and young people in the decision making around their care planning and lives, so you will value strongly the participation of children and young people in their care planning, promoting children’s identity, and a focus on the centrality of children’s views in care planning. You will have the ability to chair creatively complex meetings, and command professional respect amongst colleagues, partners, and service users.
