Senior Purchase to Pay Officer

There has never been a better time to join Halton Borough Council’s Finance Support Services team.  We are looking to recruit a driven finance professional who is highly motivated, hardworking, customer oriented, and a confident communicator.

Working under the direction of the Finance Support Manager, you will assist and support the efficient and effective delivery of the Council’s purchase to pay function and various other support services.

We are a high performing team that ensures supplier invoices are paid promptly and have received national recognition for the success of our Early Payment Scheme and Card Payment Programme, both of which provide income streams for the Council.

You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day operation of these arrangements, including the development of publicity materials and other promotional activities, the on-boarding of suppliers, and the preparation of contract documentation. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships whilst being able to influence and negotiate with suppliers and colleagues at all levels is a key part of the role.

You will also deliver regular training to internal and external groups / system users / team members on the Council’s financial systems.
