Working throughout the Sevenoaks district, with a unique blend of countryside, historical architecture, you’ll carry out plan checking, site inspections and enforcement (including dangerous structures).
With your understanding of the Building Act, Building Regulations, and associated legislation, you will provide advice and ensure that all building works are compliant.
Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to develop our customer focused service and ensure customer satisfaction with the Building Control service.
You will also need to be familiar with Building Safety Regulator’s Operation Standards Rules, and codes of practice to ensure all daily activities are conducted within accordance of these.
Please note you will need to hold, or be working towards, registration with the Building Safety Regulator to a minimum of BSCF Grade “General” or equivalent by April 2024 (Training and support will be available to assist with registration).
This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (2-3 days) and home working (2-3 days).
