Are you interested in becoming a Town Planner? Are you a motivated and well organised worker with a positive outlook who is able to deal with a busy and demanding caseload?
Winchester City Council has an exciting career opportunity within its Planning Department to ensure our service remains high quality and efficient. We are seeking an enthusiastic Officer to help shape our charming historic towns, villages and countryside. Our emerging Local Plan is ambitious and we are particularly focused on the climate emergency.
The role of Planning Officer is an ideal opportunity for a trainee planner with a keen interest in the built and rural environments to start a career in planning. You will have some office experience, preferably in planning, and have an understanding of the planning process.
Our offices are based in the heart of Winchester’s Historic Cathedral Town and the successful candidates will benefit from free parking (during working hours), essential car user allowance, flexible home working and paid Membership fees to the RTPI, along with a range of other benefits including UK Healthcare Health Plan, generous contributory Local Government pension, discounted bus travel and public transport loans, volunteering opportunities, flexible working arrangements, a cycle scheme, and career opportunities working across the department.
