Finance Officer

We are looking for two enthusiastic Finance Officers to strengthen our existing finance teams that supports their respective Directorates.

About the role

We have two exciting opportunities for a motivated individual to join North Somerset Council as a finance officer supporting the Children’ s Directorate on a permanent basis and a fixed-term basis in the Place Directorate for 12 months.

The finance team provides financial support and advice to budget holders, service managers and Heads of Service. You should be well organised, resourceful and numerate, with good attention to detail. Experience of working in an accounting environment in public sector would be an advantage.

This post will support the provision of efficient, effective and comprehensive financial service for a required range of financial and management accounting tasks.  These include supporting the production of financial returns, reports and grant claims, assisting with journals or virements, assisting with year end and in year financial management support to the service.

Applicants should also be able to demonstrate excellent presentation and communications skills and an aptitude to positively embrace and influence change.
