More about this employerTransformation Project Manager x3
Here in North Somerset, we have a vision to be open, fair and green. We are looking to appoint three Project Managers to support projects that will help us achieve this vision. We have a range of contracts available between 12 and 24 months, working on transformation projects for one of three Directorates: Corporate Services, Place or Children’s. You will work as part of a centralised Programme Management Office (PMO) team, supported by our PMO Manager.
You will have the opportunity to work on key projects that will significantly reshape the development and delivery of council services, impact how our organisation works and improve the lives of our residents and our businesses. You will also help promote best practice in project management throughout North Somerset Council.
This role is flexible meaning you aren’t required to be in the office five days a week. We’re interested in the work you do, not where you do it, and welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what working for North Somerset Council looks like for you.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for someone with relevant skills in project management with a record of project management success. We value excellent communication and partnership working skills as your work will involve building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will need to be a self-starter who is excellent at managing your own time and workload and enjoys working in a team.
You will have a good understanding of the project cycle from conception to completion. You will be expected to produce reports and present data to senior management to inform and provide strategic direction and decision making. You will have relevant or transferable experience in providing technical support for complex projects and conducting robust investigation and analysis of project design, delivery and benefits realisation.
What we can offer:
As well as flexibility in how we work we also offer:
- Opportunity to undertake Project Management training.
- A friendly, supportive working environment.
- Flexi-time scheme meaning starting and finishing your day around not just the business need but your home life commitments.
- Up to 32 days annual leave depending on length of service and an additional annual leave purchase scheme.
- Local Government Pension Scheme.
- Electric Vehicle and Cycle to Work Salary sacrifice schemes.
- Ongoing training and continued professional development.
