Planning/Senior/Principal Planning Officer (Career Graded)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile planner to join our busy Development Management team working on a variety of planning applications.  

About the role

We have number of significant planning applications and a new local plan on the way which mean this is an even more exciting time to be joining us to help deliver some amazing new developments across North Somerset.

Our work means balancing significant development pressures in a constrained area which includes Green Belt, AONB, extensive areas vulnerable to flooding and other sensitive environments.  Our challenges are wide ranging and as a result there will be plenty of opportunity to develop your career.

Typical activities for this role are dependent on the grade, based on the knowledge, skills and experience you have. Further information can be found in the attached Job description.

We want to hear from you!

Ideally we are looking for someone with experience of dealing with major planning applications, but we would also consider less experienced candidates who can show they have the knowledge, skills and attributes to support our team in progressing such applications.

Ideally you should hold a degree in Town and Country Planning or equivalent and be eligible for membership of the RTPI with a good understanding of the planning application and appeal process.
