We are looking for a housing surveyor to undertake a range of professional building surveying duties relating to the planned and capital improvement for the council’s housing stock of just under over 3,000 units, land and other assets.
Your role will include undertaking site surveys and producing accurate reports on findings across the various sites you visit. As part of the property services team you will also have the opportunity to assist with regeneration and new build works contracts, which will give insight into specific and skilled aspects of contract management.
To be successful in this role you will be have an HNC/Degree in a construction related discipline. You will have excellent presenting, reporting and quotation preparation techniques. You must also have good communication and IT skills, have a flexible approach and work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative. A full driving licence and access to a car for work is essential. There will be requirement for some out of hours working.
You will have the opportunity to develop professionally and gain experience in a wide range of duties. Training will also be provided where necessary to ensure you maintain your competency and help you develop your professional role and move forward with your career.
The post is career graded so applicants at the start of their career as well as those with experience will be considered for the post.
