Tower Hamlets has anestablished Lexcel accredited Legal Team that provides services to the Councilacross the full range of its functions. Westrive to provide excellent services and pride ourselves on the excitingvariety of work we undertake in-house. Wehave recently restructured our service to better align with the council’sfunctions and meet its changing needs and are now looking for experienced andhighly motivated professionals to join the existing team.

This post is politically restricted in accordance with section 2 of theLocal Government & Housing Act 1989.

Key Responsibilities

You will be the lead lawyer forEnforcement and deal with some high profile and exciting cases. Reporting to theHead of Litigation, you will manage a smallteam of lawyers that carries out significant amounts of advocacy and beresponsible for the provision of high quality solution focussed services.



Requirements


You will be able to demonstratesignificant experience of providing support across a range of local authorityregulatory functions including, but not limited to, crime and anti-socialbehaviour; environmental health; licensing; and enforcement under the HousingAct 2004. You will also be able todemonstrate experience of managing a team and of dealing with senior officersand Members of the Council.

You must be a Solicitor or Barrister with significant relevant PQE.
