Hertsmere Borough Council is currently looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical & Electrical (Compliance) Surveyor with corporate property experience to take a lead in the repair, maintenance and compliance of our corporate property portfolio. 

The portfolio is diverse and consists of lock up garages, offices, shops, sports pavilions, museum and Elstree Film Studios.

You may come from an Engineering or Compliance background and have considerable experience in the formulation and management of planned maintenance programmes, capital projects, preparation of detailed specifications, contract administration as well as having good financial planning and budgetary skills. 

An appropriate Engineering, Surveying or Compliance qualification, or equivalent, is required along with experience of managing maintenance contractors and excellent communication skills both orally and in writing. 

You will have a thorough knowledge of premises related health and safety and will take responsibility for the statutory compliance of the Councils property portfolio. 

The successful candidate may be expected to participate in an out of hours call out rota for which an allowance will be paid. 

The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week).
