About the job
As part of the Council's commitment to provide high quality and efficient services, we are looking to recruit an apprentice who can support the Council’s Internal Audit team. The main duties of the Internal Audit Apprentice will be to: ● Provide comprehensive and high quality technical support to the Internal Audit Service Manager and the Principal Internal Auditor in the provision of an effective and efficient Internal Audit service for the Council; ● To undertake training towards a professional qualification and assist in the delivery of the Internal Audit plan, meeting performance targets and embedding a culture of 'Putting our residents first' where continuous service improvement is maintained; and ● Work as part of a team responsible for meeting deadlines and committed to delivering high standards of customer care.

The successful applicant will receive on-the-job training in a variety of disciplines, gaining the experience and technical skills required to stand out from the crowd. We are looking for someone who has proficient IT skills. This Apprenticeship Programme is an ideal entry into the occupation and supports progression within the Internal Audit and Finance sectors. If you have 3 GCSEs at grade A*-C or equivalent including Maths and English (we will consider applications where results are still pending). You will have the opportunity to achieve:● IIA Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk
● Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Part 1 – Essentials of Internal Auditing
Please note an equivalent or higher level qualification in the same professional area (Internal Audit) cannot be held.
