Biosphere Programme Manager
Advert introduction
We are looking for an experienced and motivated environmental professional to lead the Brighton & Lewes Downs Biosphere (‘The Living Coast’) Partnership programme through the next stage of its operation, by developing and implementing a collaborative strategy and action plan, leading up to formal review by UNESCO in 2024.
Main advert detail
You will have significant experience of programme / project management, preferably related to the natural environment, with knowledge of legislation and policy relating to the environment and sustainability. Whilst working effectively as part of a team, you can also work independently to research, develop and problem-solve to ensure the objectives of the programme are met.
With your experience of strategic delivery, you will lead the development and implementation of a new 5-year Biosphere Management Strategy, working closely with partners across our Biosphere region. With your good diplomacy, stakeholder engagement and negotiating skills you will facilitate, coordinate and manage Biosphere implementation work, in partnership with many local organisations. You will also have experience of successfully bidding for external funding.
You will have good organisation skills to manage and prioritise a varied workload. You will also possess sound analytical and interpretative skills, along with excellent communication skills as you will engage with a wide range of organisations, and oversee communications activities.
