Castle Point Borough Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic person to join its Civic Governance team providing support to elected Councillors and the Council’s decision making processes.
The role will involve the preparation of all meeting agendas and minutes for publication in accordance with required deadlines, together with assisting Councillors regarding Council procedures and community matters. Providing support to the Leader of the Council and the Mayor’s office will be important aspects of this role. Previous committee, meetings, administration and clerking experience, particularly in supporting Overview and Scrutiny Committees, would be desirable. The successful candidate is likely to be educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent.
Flexibility will also be key as the post holder will be required to assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Register of Electors and at all types of elections, which will involve occasionally working outside core hours.
This post is ‘politically restricted’ under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
