The Telecommunications Service within West Berkshire Council manage a Realitis (TDM based analogue and VOIP switched network) and Openscape Voice (VOIP) telecommunications network supporting 2,000 users across 8 sites. The department also manages an Openscape Unified Communications voice server, contact centre telephony, voicemail, call logging and WBC’s mobile telephony estate. In addition the Service delivers a large and varied programme of telecoms related projects to a variety of customers within West Berkshire Council.
We are seeking a highly motivated, technically competent and well organised individual to assist the Telecommunications Manager in the running of the Telecoms Service. The post is a full time (37 hours per week) permanent role based in our Market Street office.
Your duties will include the support, security and maintenance of the voice network, management of the mobile telephony estate and cover for the Telecommunications Manager.
Essential requirements are an up-to-date working knowledge of Realitis and Openscape Voice systems & software, Procenter and IP technology. You will have an excellent customer service attitude, a flexible approach and a willingness to learn and acquire new skills and to help develop new, more efficient processes and procedures.
You should have at least 2-years experience within a Realitis and Openscape Voice environment and knowledge of installing and supporting a unified communications system would be a distinct advantage. You should be well organised and able to work on your own initiative, sometimes under pressure, whilst retaining a good sense of humour!
This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
