The job role
This is an exciting and challenging role for someone looking to join a local authority that is forward thinking and committed to delivering excellent public services. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop further as a planning officer in a busy and supportive team of planning professionals.
As a Planner you will be responsible for determining a caseload of planning applications for a variety of developments. You will be an enthusiastic individual with knowledge of development management, who can work confidently with developers and partners to deliver the best development in Rochford District. You will be expected to support more senior colleagues on cases when required, and help deliver a high quality and responsive service within the District.
You will be a highly motivated individual, with good communication skills. You will also have excellent customer service skills, be well organised and committed to championing the highest level of professionalism.
You must hold a full current driving licence and have use of a vehicle.
The post may provide an interesting challenge for a recently qualified individual or someone working towards a relevant qualification and seeking to gain experience of working in a local planning authority.
