Youwill be the lead lawyer of a small team that deals with Adult Social Care,reporting to the Head of Safeguarding. Inaddition to dealing with case work, you will provide advice and support onpolicy and strategy, act as legal adviser to the Safeguarding Adults Board andbe able to support Children’s social care work when required, in particular inrespect of judicial review.
You will be able to demonstrate significant experience of dealing withAdult Social Care matters and a sound understanding of the applicable legalframework and practice issues, including the interface between health andsocial care. Ideally you will also haveexperience in education matters.
You will also be able to demonstrate experience of leading a team,developing and mentoring staff and improving practice. Experience of dealing with senior officersand Members of a local authority is also essential. Recentexperience of conducting advocacy will be an advantage.This post is politically restricted in accordance with section 2 of the Local Government & Housing Act 1989.
