Job Title: Head of Building Management
Location: County Hall, Hertford
Salary Range: £54,441 - £64,443 pa
Hours: 37 per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Property Service, which is responsible for the strategic and operational use and management of over 2,000 land and property assets worth in excess of £2billion. The Building Management team oversees the implementation of the County Council’s multi million pound capital programme on behalf of service departments, including Children’s Services and Adult Care Services including care homes.
The Head of Building Management would be accountable for ensuring that all design, development and construction is delivered in compliance with key regulations and legislation relevant to construction and maintenance activities. You’ll also be responsible for the development and delivery of the property capital programme, the arrangements for procurement of professional surveys and contractors, together with oversight of asbestos management throughout the estate.
As an experienced manager in the construction or property project management sector, you will be joining an excellent team, ensuring robust strategic planning, performance and financial management, where value for money is benchmarked effectively. You’ll support the identification and delivery of the capital programme (schools and non schools) to time, quality, and cost, through the effective management of contracted out services used to develop and deliver the programme. You will ensure that high performance standards and budgetary control is delivered at all times.
You’ll work closely with key stakeholders to ensure that all Building Management services are delivered through effective customer service and communication with all users of the service including members, service users, and schools staff. You will be a confident individual, capable of using your initiative to work effectively in some challenging and diverse situations. You will possess excellent leadership, performance management and communication skills.
