The Procurement team are looking for a Procurement Manager who will provide an independent view and expertise solely on the project(s) associated with the council's change in services for housing repairs, maintenance and capital project works on a 18 month fixed term contract.
The post is a senior role within the Procurement team, providing support for the Category Manager in Housing and Property on this high profile procurement exercise.

The Strategic Procurement Team are tasked to deliver Procurement projects typically above £75k and to arrange appropriate contractual arrangements to support the workings of our partner authorities across a range of categories.
This post is focusing around the work with the Property and Investment Department, with a specific focus on delivering the Housing; Repairs, Improvements and Capital works procurement activity.
You will need to bring expertise and innovation to the role, and will work on local, projects, often as part of cross functional teams, working to deliver effective solutions to support and advance your stakeholder category.
The successful candidate will have;
Great organisational skills,
Great communication skills (written and verbal)
Good persuasion skills
Focus on delivery
Knowledge of Procurement rules is useful
Awareness of Council systems and operations is an advantage
Awareness of housing, planned maintenance contracts and experience of tenant/leaseholder engagement is an advantage
The work location for this role is flexible across Brighton& Hove, but you will be expected to develop and maintain excellent working relations with the various customers we support, and also with colleagues across our organisation.
This is a Brighton and Hove sovereign role, which is offered on a secondment basis, full time hours, although we would consider flexible options.
