PA – Personal Assistant to Director of Children’s Social Care

Achieving for Children is an award-winning social enterprise created by Kingston and Richmond Councils in 2014, and we are responsible for delivering the entirety of both boroughs’ children’s services. In 2017, we expanded across a third local authority area when the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead joined the company.

Our vision for Achieving for Children is simple: by bringing together professional expertise from three local authority areas, and by putting children and young people at the heart of everything we do, we will be able to deliver improved outcomes for families and give children and young people the best start in life.

Since we were established, we have gained a reputation as one of the leading children’s services providers in the country. We are one of the Department for Education’s eight ‘Partners in Practice’, tasked with leading improvement across the sector.

We are recruiting a Personal Assistant in Achieving for Children, on a fixed term one year contract, to provide effective and comprehensive assistance, project management and business support to the Directorate in Children’s Social Care (Windsor & Maidenhead) to enable the senior management to effectively perform their role.

The Personal Assistant will support the Directorate in ensuring that the operational needs of AfC are met, demonstrating excellent IT skills and ensure consistently high levels of responses to customers, to meet both external and internal customer needs. PAs will work with each other and Business Support Officers to manage the workloads of the Senior Management Team and ensure appropriate levels of cover at all times.

There needs to be a willingness to work flexibly and to change hours to fit in with the demands of the service, PAs will have a ‘home’ base but will be expected to work flexible and provide cover to support to Business Support staff when required.

In return, we will offer you high quality support and development opportunities. If you would like to find out more about this exciting role, please contact Delia Smith on 01628 796308 for an informal discussion.

Achieving for Children is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful Candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
