PORTER/SECURITY x 4 Posts

Hours: 37 hours per week

Due to the retirement of several long standing members of the team, Facilities and Technical Services are seeking to recruit a number of porters to work as part of a team to help run our main administrative buildings (Town Hall, Portland House and The Shoreham Centre). You will need to have experience at an operational level of opening and closing large multi-use buildings, setting up meeting rooms, porterage and furniture moving, fire and security management , and health and safety checks.

You will also be required to drive a council vehicle to provide a courier service and carry out minor caretaking property maintenance taking a proactive approach to your duties in keeping our facilities well managed.

In this role you will be customer focused and helpful in dealing with staff, members of the public, Councillors, Contractors and civic dignitaries. As a key holder to these sites you must be reliable and comfortable working alone.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the department and the business, working occasional evenings and weekends and required to be a keyholder and on call for emergencies. You will have a main place of work but work at an alternative site one in every four weeks or as required to cover the other Council sites.
