Uttlesford is a thriving predominantly rural District in north-west Essex equal in size to half of Greater London, with international air (Stansted Airport), road and rail networks. With both new development and an historic and rural environment it offers the best quality of life in England and Wales.
We are seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor to collect internal and external data from our tenants homes over a 12 month period.
The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating Scheme and Decent Homes, hold a construction related qualification or have equivalent experience, and be comfortable with entering data on handheld devices.
The post will require a high level of understanding planned maintenance and Component life cycles, using professional judgement to assess current condition, estimating the age and remaining life of property components.
The ability to quality control your own work and benchmark to others is a key requirement to ensure a balanced approach which delivers quality data into Northgate’s S.A.M. database. The data collected will be on tablets or large mobiles that will require basic knowledge of IT systems and use.
Personal interaction with the public will be part of the role on a daily basis at various locations throughout our district. Being a large rural area, you will need to hold a valid driving licence and have access to a car for which a petrol allowance is available.
