A vacancy has arisen for a Business Support Officer in Mid Kent Revenues and Benefits Partnership (MKS). MKS is an innovative shared service model and the Business Support function is delivered on behalf of Maidstone Borough Council and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

You will be expected to undertake quality assurance checks on benefit decisions, consider appeals, discretionary housing payments and assist with the completion of the councils benefit grant claim.   A detailed knowledge of the benefit regulations and working knowledge of the benefit system are essential.  Experience of using the Academy benefits system would be an advantage. 

The position is part time (17.0 hours per week), offered on a permanent contract working from our office in Maidstone. The successful candidate must be flexible as you will be required to attend and present at Tribunal Hearings. 

This role is customer-facing and the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential element of the role.

This is a part time position of 17 hours per week on a permanent contract.
