Graduate Apprenticeship Opportunity
We are offering an exciting new career opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual who will working in a challenging, dynamic, friendly team-based environment in our Livingston Office. As part of our team you will be focused on providing support to both team members and our clients.
Whilst working for SPA you will also have a fantastic opportunity to study with Edinburgh Napier University for a BA Business Management degree, based on a ratio of 80% at work and with 20% reserved for university study on day release, next intake September 2019.
The fees for your study are covered by Skills Development Scotland under the Graduate Apprenticeship Scheme, so you can gain a degree while in full-time employment, without any student debt.
This is an office-based role and the ideal candidate must be within commuting distance of Livingston, EH54 8AF. The position will require periodic travel to our Head Office in Uxbridge, London, as required.
What will I learn?
The position offered will be as Administration Officer, working closely with the Office Manager to support the Client Support Team and clients with project registrations, client updates and financial forecasting and reporting. You will also be working with the Marketing Communications Officer to assist with event planning and organisation as required.
This role will offer training in areas of our business, to include:
• Project Management
• Marketing and Social Media
• IT in-house systems
On the BA (Hons) Business Management degree at Edinburgh Napier University, you will study 2 modules per trimester based on a day-release model; in year one you will attend on a Friday during term time, moving to a Thursday in year 2. Years 3 and 4 have a greater emphasis on work-based learning and live projects, during which time you will attend university once a month but will still have the equivalent of a day’s work per week which is connected to your degree.
Based at the Business School in Craiglockhart, you will study a range of taught modules including Behavioural Science, HRM, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, International Business, Strategic Management and Creativity Innovation and Enterprise. You will also undertake Professional Practice modules in your workplace during the summer trimester, which will relate directly to your role.
What competences/knowledge/qualifications are required?
To study for the BA Business Management degree applicants with no previous work experience would require 4 B’s at Higher or equivalent. However relevant work experience can be considered by the University, for those who have previously been in employment.
IT Skills, including Excel spreadsheets, Word and Outlook.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Accuracy with the ability to interpret information to assist decision making
Motivation to succeed and willingness to learn
Commitment to complete the BA Business Management Degree
