The salary package for this role is £39,438 per annum for 36 hours per week based at County Hall, Penrhyn Rd, Kingston upon Thames KT1 2DN. About the role

Service – Education Application Support team provides specialist support for mission critical education applications used across Surrey County Council. The team is part of wider Enterprise Applications Portfolio which supports and delivers complex applications across Surrey County Council, East Sussex and Brighton & Hove City Council.

Team – The Education Application Support team's main function is to implement, manage and support internal and external customers of Capita One education system and any other new system acquired by education service. The team consists of Education Applications Team Leader, Senior Applications Specialist and two Application Specialists etc.

Our goal is to maintain a Centre of Excellence and Best Practice in Applications Service Delivery by improving the support of current applications and associated integrated technologies.

Role – To manage and support the delivery of Capita One Managed Service and other education systems for Surrey County Council. The Senior Applications Specialist is responsible for day to day support of Capita One including; system administration and application support (investigation, testing, configuration & software upgrades etc). Having an In-depth understanding of LA responsibilities in line with DfE statutory requirements around Children Support Services is desirable. On the job training will be provided to discharge your duties and develop your skills in this role.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • Knowledge/experience of the One Education software
  • Knowledge/experience of Local Authority Children's Services (Education) practises
  • Analysis and Problem Solving Skills
  • Good knowledge and understanding of ITIL framework 
  • Good knowledge and understanding of databases: Oracle 12c and SQL 2012 Server
  • Knowledge of SQL SRSS reporting and Crystal reports (desirable)
  • Knowledge of PL\SQL

Leadership Skills/Competencies:-
• Experience of leading on projects
• Experience of leading team
