About Us

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join the Mineral and Waste Planning Team within the Environment & Infrastructure Department of Hertfordshire County Council. The remit of the department is growing to meet the challenges that the County faces as the economy picks up and the population expands.

This post will help the unit address the challenging work programme ahead.  This is a specialist posts within the Unit’s services, but the intelligence and skill sets of post holders should enable them to work across the spectrum of the Unit’s activity.  This is in keeping with the SPEU philosophy that skills are transferrable and cross unit/service work is the way forward.

 About You

The way in which the Unit works and operates within and beyond the organisation means that candidates will need to be experienced team players with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to prioritise a busy workload to deliver and manage a range of major and varied projects.  The profile and sensitivity of the work of the unit will also mean that you will be politically astute and have experience of day-to-day informal and formal involvement with politicians.  Much of our work is undertaken with partners and communities, so you will have experience in working in multi-organisation environments and with the general public.
