Social Worker (Rolling advert)

The role
The Southwark skyline is an impressive sight. The incredibly diverse range of buildings, offices and leisure facilities make it a real mix of old and new. Located south of the River Thames, Southwark extends into South-East London, encompassing some of the capital's cultural hotspots, vibrant communities and acclaimed green spaces.
The area is undergoing major regeneration, as evidenced by the rise of the landmark Shard building.

As the largest Housing landlord in London, we're committed to making a real difference to the quality of life for local people, making the home environment cleaner, safer and more modern.
Southwark's vision of a Fairer Future for all, includes giving children the 'Best Start in Life', promoting a safe, stable and healthy environment where they have the opportunity to develop. Working with and supporting parents to secure the best possible outcomes in life, for them, their children, and their family. Offering them the right support, at the right time!

Southwark has a varied mix of cultural communities, where over 120 languages are spoken in Southwark. We have all the challenges you'd find in any inner city area.

We have Social Worker vacancies in the following Services:
 Assessment and Intervention
 Safeguarding and Family Support Service
 All Age Disability Service - children and young people up to 25

Southwark redesigned its Children's Social Care to enable us work systemically and collaboratively in small practice groups to help improve the lives of children and families. We are determined that all children enjoy good outcomes and are committed to Restorative Practices having a transformational impact on culture and professional practice working.

Are you a qualified social worker with significant experience of working with children and families. You will have completed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and hold a recognised social work qualification together with demonstrable experience of working with children and families in highly complex situations.

We need people who are committed to improving the life experience for children and families and supporting them to manage without statutory support, when possible. We could use your help to deliver excellent, high quality, social work services to children and families so join us and help us to create a culture which maintains its focus on families and prioritises direct work.

We are committed to freeing you up to do social work and will provide manageable case-loads with additional administrative support so you can spend more time working with families than in front of your computer.
