In the Older People’s services, nutrition and hydration are vitally important when it comes to the wellbeing of our customers – you could make people’s lives better.
At our services every day is different - every person has a story as well as a unique need. You’ll join our friendly team in this unique setting. Your main tasks will be to manage the kitchen services on a daily / overall basis and ensure the area operates effectively and excellent meals are prepared and served. This will include the ordering of food, food delivery, preparation, cooking and presentation. You will oversee the kitchen assistant and guide them in their role. You will be responsible for the safety processes within the kitchen and dining areas – ensuring all environmental health and food safety Procedures are adhered to and recorded. You will be able to design and prepare a varied menu with choices to meet all customer preferences – you will be enthusiastic about involving customers in menus.
To apply for this role you will need to hold a current food hygiene certificate, at level 2 (at least) and hold a catering related qualification or an equivalent 3 year’s experience in the catering profession. You will have an understanding of and an ability to cater for the special dietary needs and allergies of our vulnerable older people. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to manage others in the kitchen environment. You will become part of a wider team of people, all working towards the same goal – to provide an excellent service to the people in our care.
