Project Officer

Job Title: Projects Officer - Land Management
Location: Countywide
Salary Range: starting from £22,462 progressing to £29,636 pa
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent

As the environment and active travel rise up the agenda, demand for our services has never been greater. We are now able to offer a permanent position in our land management team planning and delivering improvements to green spaces and non-motorised transport routes.

About you:
*Looking to take the next step in your career in countryside management, green space development or delivery of green infrastructure
*Ability to secure funds, manage contractors and sell ideas
*A full current driving licence is essential

About us:
We work in partnership with landowners and communities to develop projects that enhance the environment for people and wildlife, manage and make best use of our access network and provide opportunities for informal recreation. Our current project portfolio includes a considerable range of work across a number of key sites and habitats, including woodland management at a range of scales, heathland restoration in Hertfordshire’s only NNR, chalk river restoration and developing and promoting old railway lines as non-motorised transport routes.

Responsibilities include:

*Providing a professional land management advisory service to our partners
*Writing management plans for Green Flag Award winning green spaces
*Securing funds from external providers
*Producing specifications, procuring works and managing delivery through contractors
*Working collaboratively with our Access and Communities Teams to support a diverse portfolio of activity
