Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils have successfully embraced the challenges of modern government through taking a progressive partnership approach to offering services. We are proud of what we have achieved through our joint working and we are passionate about delivering excellent services to our customers every day and meeting the needs of our local communities.
Our staff survey results consistently tell us that our employees think this is a great place to work and that they are proud to work for the Councils. An Investor in People (IiP) Assessor commented that, "staff are incredibly positive about their work for the Council, committed to its success and have a high level of satisfaction".
We are looking to appoint a Team Leader to lead, motivate, manage and be responsible for the overall co-ordination of the Strategic Sites and Specialists Team within the Councils Development Management Service. The team comprises planning officers, listed building/conservation area officers and tree officers as well as the supervision of internal and external specialists.
Our Strategic Sites & Specialists Team deal with the more strategic and major planning proposals than the planning service deal with. As an expert in their field, the post-holder will themselves occasionally deal with some of the more strategic and complex requests for pre-application advice and planning applications as well as leading, advising and mentoring officers in the team. Strong leadership, analytical, advisory and negotiation skills are therefore essential in order to lead and manage the team. The post-holder will need to be extremely focused and results orientated.
