Join our new Commercial Business Property and Development service and be part of an innovative and exciting team focusing on targeting, designing and delivering important commercial developments and ventures to drive revenue income growth for Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough councils and make lasting improvements to our towns.

In your role as Estate Surveyor within the Commercial Property Development team, you will play a key part in the new service, ensuring the Councils’ commercial property portfolios are future-proofed, opportunities are achieved to increase income and the estates are effectively managed to deliver the Councils’ ambitions.

Helping deliver an ‘asset challenge’ of the Councils existing portfolios, you will provide evidence based business cases, including valuation advice and due diligence, to support retention, investment, transfer and disposal decisions. You will support estate matters on new developments, enabling them to be delivered effectively and reducing risk for the Councils.

You will be a pro-active, high performing, self-motivated individual with a strategic approach who is able to work under pressure and has experience of working with a varied property portfolio and undertaking commercial negotiations. You will have strong all round communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships within the organisation as well as with external partners and tenants.

If you want to make a difference within an exciting new service working across two organisations that are breaking new ground together, we’d love to hear from you.
