About the role
Here at Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, we want to deliver the very best services for our people. Our Place Delivery team is at the heart of delivering growth and regeneration projects that will ensure we can do this.
We need a Senior Development Manager to provide expert advice to senior managers and members, while also delivering a diverse range of development projects across the council.
Working with and reporting to the Principal Development Manager, you’ll support the work of other service managers delivering high profile projects, such as a new office development in Horley Business Park, from inception to implementation.
This is an exciting time to join us as we undergo a period of major organisational change, placing our residents at the centre of everything we do. If you want to join a dynamic council that is increasing investment in its people and infrastructure, Reigate & Banstead is the place for you.
As an expert in development management, you’ll use your experience to manage a range of complex projects that support the council’s Corporate Plan objectives, particularly within its People & Place directorates.
Being able to communicate your ideas to the management team and elected members in an effective and professional manner will be crucial to your success. You’ll also need to be able manage budgets and spend, providing support and intelligence to influence future resources and budget requirements.
You’ll need to be able to work on your own initiative and manage your own time, whilst also working collaboratively to support others in your team. If you have a positive attitude and a passion for place delivery, this is the perfect role for you.
Reigate & Banstead have a lot to offer, both professionally and personally. We have a fantastic green belt location with excellent transport lines, combining the best of countryside and town living.
In exchange for your expertise, experience and enthusiasm, we will offer support in continuing your personal and career development, in addition to providing a wide range of benefits. You’ll receive competitive annual leave and 15% contribution towards the LGPS pension scheme. You’ll also have access to a range of discounts including local and high street stores, and salary sacrifice schemes including a cycle lease scheme, and ‘Better’ leisure centre membership.
