About the role

Here at Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, we want to deliver the very best services for our people. Our Place Delivery team is at the heart of delivering growth and regeneration projects that will ensure we can do this.

We’re seeking a Principal Development Manager to provide expert advice and help deliver a diverse range of development projects. Reporting to the Head of Place Delivery, you’ll work across the council to support a range of projects from inception to completion.

You’ll also maintain budgetary oversight for key areas of spend, managing and planning for expenditure, providing support and intelligence to influence future resources and budget requirements.

This is an exciting time to join us as we undergo a period of major organisational change, placing our residents at the centre of everything we do. If you want to join a dynamic council that is increasing investment in its people and infrastructure, Reigate & Banstead is the place for you.

About you

Most importantly, you’ll have the technical knowledge to deliver a range of complex projects across the council’s People and Place directorates. In addition, you’ll need to be able to keep to strict deadlines, so projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Using your expertise and experience in high scale development projects, you’ll need to effectively communicate with management and elected members to provide effective advice. These skills will also be vital when negotiating and working with venture partners and third parties.

You’ll need to be able to work on your own initiative and be a self-starter, whilst also working collaboratively to support others in your team. If you have a positive attitude and a passion for place delivery, this is the perfect role for you.

You’ll receive competitive annual leave and 15% contribution towards the LGPS pension scheme. You’ll also have access to a range of discounts including local and high street stores, and salary sacrifice schemes including a cycle lease scheme, and ‘Better’ leisure centre membership.
