We have an opportunity for you to learn how to carry out a range of electrical repairs and installations in occupied and empty properties including diagnosis of electrical faults, testing and maintenance of electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures such as renewing consumer control unit, fuse/RCD/MCB; cookers, fans, fire alarm, sockets, switches, door bells, external lighting, shower units, electrical heaters using hand and power tools to current legislative standards.
About the role
Brighton & Hove City Council’s Facilities and Building Services team have an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 apprentice in Electrical installation and maintenance. The Department is responsible for reactive repairs and minor new works across the Brighton and Hove city council corporate estate.
The Installation/Maintenance Electrician course at level 3 is run by Greater Brighton Metropolitan College who are responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out assessments. The course has core modules to complete and a number of optional units. Your work experience will be linked to the modules and units in your course. You will receive additional support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.

Apprentices without evidence of level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to completing training and you may be required to take an English and Maths assessment prior to a formal offer being made.
For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and Maths minimum requirement is Entry Level 3 and British Sign Language qualification are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
