We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Environmental Health Officer (Housing and Public Health) to join our Environmental Protection Team within the Regeneration and Housing Service.

 

The Post holder will contribute to improving the quality of the private sector housing stock within the Borough, including investigating reports of sub-standard housing conditions and poor management practice.

 

You will be involved with the investigation and enforcement of private sector housing complaints under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System, reports of illegal eviction, and Houses in Multiple Occupancy (HMO) including licensing.

 

The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player, be competent to deal with complex case work and have very good verbal and communication skills. You will need to be organised and motivated, and able to work on your own initiative.

 

The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and experienced, ideally with evidence of having completed training and carried out enforcement of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System.
