SEN & Disability (SEND) Strategy Officer

We are looking for a SEN & Disability (SEND) Strategy Officer to join the SEN & Disabled Children’s Service in West Berkshire.

West Berkshire has developed, with parents and other key stakeholders, a 5 year strategy to develop its services for children and young people with SEND aged 0 to 25. We now require a SEND Strategy Officer to take a lead role in delivery of the SEND Strategy.

You will be responsible for developing detailed action plans and project plans for each aspect of the SEND strategy, leading on implementation of projects within the Strategy, (such as setting up specialist provision), monitoring and reporting on progress and working closely with stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children with SEND in West Berkshire and their families. You will need a good working knowledge of SEN and Disability, successful project planning experience and the ability to work on your own initiative and to tight deadlines. You will also require a high level of interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to working in coproduction with parents and young people.

This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
