West Berkshire Council is looking to recruit Senior Night Care Officers at residential and dementia care home, Walnut Close - Thatcham.
Walnut Close is home to frail elderly residents, some living with dementia and/or physical disabilities, for which we aim to offer a friendly, safe and secure environment. We believe our residents have choices about their care, and we promote independence as much as possible. We aim to offer social and emotional support to our residents in order to meet their individual needs.
The night shifts are waking nights and Senior Night Care Officers are required to work a designated shift pattern and alternate weekends to cover the care home rota.
You will work alongside and manage the Night Care Assistant team to ensure that the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents are met.
Adaptable and approachable, you will have care experience, ideally with dementia, and elderly frail, good working knowledge of CQC standards together with a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Care. Familiar with the principles of person-centred care, you will also posess excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, a 'can do' attitude and the ability to remain calm when dealing with challenging and difficult situations.

The starting salary will be a minimum £21,166 per annum, pro rata with night enhancement of £15 paid for nights worked.
