Information Officer

Job introduction

We are looking to recruit an Information Officer on a fixed term basis to join our project team to help us implement our new housing management IT system.

This new role will undertake specific data cleansing tasks to support the migration to a new Housing Management System; help test the new system and provide tailored support to staff during the implementation period.

Fixed term for: 18 months

Interview date: 21 August 2019 (to be confirmed)

For an informal discussion, please contact Mo Lawless, Housing Systems Implementation Programme Manager on 01273 295975.

About the role

The new role will join 1 existing Information Officer in Housing as part of the project implementation team. The initial priority will be helping to get our current data fit to transfer to our new system and you will also support us to identify opportunities for process improvement during the migration period. You will be testing the system to ensure that it meets the current service needs as well as improving how we work. Once the new system goes live you will play a key role in directly supporting staff to use the new system and provide on-site assistance for common technical problems.

You will be based at the Housing Centre in Moulsecoomb, but will also be required to work flexibly across a number of sites to support the delivery of consistent training messages and ensure that all staff are supported to use and navigate the new system.

The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of housing systems/databases and be able to demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of IT systems. Demonstrable experience of supporting individuals or groups would be advantageous.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency's Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.

Company information

We welcome applications from all sections of the community but particularly encourage applicants from a BME or White Other background as well as those who identify as male or trans as these groups are currently under-represented in our Directorate workforce.

As part of Brighton & Hove City Council's ongoing commitment to redeployment, please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any stage of the recruitment process, without prior notice if a suitable redeployee (internal employee at risk of redundancy) is identified.
