Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent

Job Duties:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in Hertfordshire’s highly regarded Highways Service helping to deliver the ground breaking ‘Members Highways Locality Budget’ initiative. You will have a key role in assisting officers and county councillors to allocate their budgets by driving forward a wide variety of small highway schemes and projects. You will also build strong relationships within the highway service, as well as District, Borough, Town and Parish Councils and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to delivery.

About you: We are looking for enthusiastic and pro-active individuals to join the service so experience gained in the highways design / engineering sector, or equivalent, using technical software such as CAD and other highway design software along with Microsoft Office would be a distinct advantage. However, the variety of tasks across the role will require a highways ‘all-rounder,’ matched with an attitude to getting the job done.

Responsibilities also include:
* Working on a diverse range of projects which promote Hertfordshire as an innovative, efficient authority with a commitment to helping to keep people healthy safe and growing the economy.
* You will be meeting with your local members and their communities, out on site measuring up maintenance jobs, designing small engineering and parking projects, managing budgets and dealing with consultations.
* Working with and supporting county councillors in managing highways queries that come to them from their local community; involving investigation and resolution of often complex issues

If you think you have what is required and you are ready for a challenging yet very rewarding role then we want to hear from you.

For an informal discussion please contact Paul Gellard on 01992 658142.
