Housing Enforcement Officer

Corby is a small place with big ambitions. In aiming to double the population by 2030, we are determined to revitalise the Borough and improve the health and quality of life for everyone.

Over the last two years, Corby has seen a significant growth in the number of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) across the borough, many of which are subject to mandatory licensing.

We are looking to a recruit an enthusiastic Officer who is able to take on a lead role with respect to enforcement and regulation of HMOs. You will also be required to carry out inspections under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), prepare schedules of works, give advice to tenants and landlords in order to improve housing conditions and utilise the enforcement tools available including; licensing, statutory notices, civil penalty notices and prosecution.

You will need to possess a relevant Environmental Health qualification, a proven ability to work on your own initiative, be able to deal with complex case work, and have good communication and negotiation skills.
