Based at Arun Civic Centre, Littlehampton

Arun is a District of 150,000 people geographically located midway between the cities of Portsmouth and Brighton.  It incorporates three main towns, including historic Arundel and everything from sunny south coast beaches to the South Downs which is now part of a National Park.

We are seeking someone who is highly motivated, with knowledge/experience of housing supply and delivery in a planning context. This involves collating information to capture and analyse Housing Employment Land Availability Assessment data (HELAA)  with other stakeholders including landowners and developers and site promotors who wish to put forward land to be considered for development to inform the Council’s Action Plan aimed at boosting housing delivery. Working in a similar busy work environment will be an advantage.

Main areas of responsibility will include:-

  • Coordinating data returns to Government which provide statistics on housing completions including and housing need and plan provision figures into the Government’s Housing Delivery Test monitoring and reporting cycle
  • Assisting with the housing completions monitoring with West Sussex County Council
  • Issuing letters and survey forms for collating land availability data using the Council’s HELAA pro-from and using systems for recording and analysing this data in order to inform the Council s’ HDT Action plan
  • Helping with updating the 5 year housing land supply based on the HELAA input to the Council’s Authority Monitoring Report published at the end of each year
