At Thurrock, our housing vision is 'to provide high quality housing opportunities in safe, clean and green environments'. We are changing the way we deliver our housing services and supporting residents early on by empowering them to be as independent as possible. Demand for social housing in Thurrock is much greater than the supply and the Allocations Scheme therefore provides access to accommodation that is responsive to the needs of local people in a fair, consistent and transparent way.

This role will ensure that vacant Council homes are promptly let and that Housing Association nominations are swiftly provided in line with current housing policies. This role involves delivering a high quality customer service for those approaching the Council with a housing need, be responsible for allocation casework and correspondence and assess applicants' priorities in accordance with the Allocations Policy.

You will be self-motivated and work with minimum supervision and be able to manage personal time and workloads. In addition to this you will have the ability to work with both internal and external services to achieve operational objectives.

Other aspects of the work include providing a comprehensive housing information and advice service explaining housing options enabling customers to make informed decisions based on knowledge of the options available to them.

Closing Date: Sunday 25 July 2019
